Biophysics

Biophysics is an eclectic interdisciplinary science difficult to categorize but providing a binding link between the physical sciences and biological systems. Biophysics explains biological functions in terms of molecular mechanisms; precise physical descriptions of how individual molecules work and interact together to produce specific biological functions. It studies the three fundamental issues that directly impact our understanding of life and health at the molecular level: understanding of the structure and function of gene products, the regulation of gene expression, and the metabolic networks and pathways of molecular interactions. It provides explanations of the living behavior of molecules, the sole building blocks of living organisms assembled into cells, tissues and whole organisms along with insights of the forming of complex individual cell membrane structures, proteins, DNA,chromosomes etc.
